While for the most part meeting new people online it is safe, there are some precautions that must be taken to minimise risks. Therefore, it is important for Learners to follow these safety tips to ensure you keep safe when meeting new Tutors, Trainers, Coaches and/or Instructors:
- “Verified Users Only” are safer profiles as these have been verified by our verification team and belong to real people.
- Before meeting with a new prospective Tutors, Trainers, Coaches and/or Instructors it is recommended to arrange a video call so you can ask questions and get a feeling about the person.
- Your first meeting with a new Tutors, Trainers, Coaches and/or Instructors must be during working hours and in a public place.
- Tell friends or family members about your plans, where you will be and with whom.
- Use common sense.
- If you feel uncomfortable excuse yourself and leave.
- Take your mobile phone with you and contact a trusted friend or person if you feel uncomfortable or in danger.
- Ask your Tutors, Trainers, Coaches and/or Instructors for relevant qualifications and references.
